Top Source of Encouragement
Salt & Light Volume IV, Issue 2 by D. Scott Prindle

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." (Ephesians 6:9)

Atlanta, Georgia
Every time we travel there it seems colder than here in Idaho. How is that possible when we're sitting at minus 30 below zero?

This week we'll be gathering with friends and business builders for a leadership conference in what some call "the city too busy to hate". When people who share a common mission gather together, they always come away encouraged.

Encouragement is vital to your Christian faith. Your calling will always place you crosswise with the world. If you are doing God's will, there will be opposition, challenges, struggles, temptations, and times you just get tired.

Where does the encouragement come from? People. There will be stories of overcoming. The thrill of victory and agony of defeat is common to us all. When we hear how the mighty hand of God is at work, we realize our efforts are not futile.

This week keep your ears tuned in to other people's stories. And then remember your own. Realize that your story may be the encouragement someone else may need.

Yes, you have a story. Don't ever forget how you were saved from the consequence of your sin. And every time you have to war with your flesh and choose to resist temptation, you reap everlasting life.
