Hey, It's Your Time To Be On Top!

Reach Your Summit
Salt & Light Volume V, Issue 21 by D. Scott Prindle

"For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)

Heart's Desire
We are blessed to live in a beautiful place. Our home looks out at the Grand Teton, an inspiring 13,750' mountain.

Since we look at it everyday, a desire to climb to its summit grew inside us.

One day we said, "Let's do it", and we did. What a feat.

Now when we look at "The Grand" there are no regrets, no thoughts of what it might be like to stand on the top. It's a daily reminder of what's possible when we follow through with our heart's desire.

Christ In You
God is inside you by His Spirit, causing, stirring, even leading you to fulfill His will. You cannot live to your fullest in God unless you grasp this truth.

This means to fulfill God's call on your life, you ultimately must do that which is on your heart.

Your will and
God's will are
not contrary
to each other.

You must learn see your inspired thoughts and heartfelt desires being compatible with God's (of course we are not giving license to satisfy any lusts or evil desires within us).

You must not perceive of God's will as contrary to your own. Paul says that your innermost being truly delights in God's commands (Romans 7:22). Your will and God's will are not contrary to each other.

If you always think your desires are contrary to God's, you will always have doubt. It will cause you to be double minded and unstable in all your ways (James 1:8). Another word for instability is insecurity. Our insecurities cause us to walk in fear and unbelief.

teton Stability is of utmost importance when climbing a mountain. Can you imagine having to battle insecurity with every step you take? You'll never make it. You'll quit and turn around in defeat.

God gave you a new heart when you were born again. He is at work in you causing you to do His will.

No man or woman will become the overcomer God made him or her to be until they discover this truth, believe, and act on it.
