My Election Reflection

Are You Ready To Be An Overcomer?
Salt & Light Volume V, Issue 44 by D. Scott Prindle

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21 NLT)

"The demographics have changed". liberal

This has been one of the main talking points explaining how a President who governed through the worst economy since the Great Depression could win re-election.

It is true, we are a changing nation.

But something far greater than ethnicity has transformed America... it's the spiritual and moral condition of our country that underlies the change we see.

Biblical moral standards are now openly rejected. Political leaders and storm victims mockingly ask, "What's next, locusts and pestilence?".

With pride and arrogance we say, "We will rebuild", with no mention of humbling ourselves before God.

Sexual immorality continues to grow. Degenerate pornographers are now upset about a new law requiring their actors to wear condoms while fornicating in porn. Paradoxical?

What's next?

Our hope is that our merciful God is granting a season of repentance. Personal experience and history provide ample evidence; painful circumstances offer the most fruitful environment for the loving kindness of God to bring forth repentance.

The question begs to be asked.

Is another season of unchanged national leadership (executive and congress) God's mercy being extended to a backsliding country in the form of increased national pain?

Is there still hope for repentance?
As a Christian, how is my own heart condition?
Have I lost my first love?
Have I become lukewarm?
Does the world influence me more than I influence the world?
Is my flavor still salty?
Is my light still burning bright?

Am I willing to persevere in spite of tribulations?

This present time is a time of testing. We are exhorted to overcome, laying down our fleshly desires in exchange for the eternal kingdom of our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

No matter the result of the election, there is always evil in the land to overcome.

It starts with overcoming the evil that infiltrates our own heart.

The reward is an eternal inheritance of the glory of God. Wow. scott & laurie prindle
