Ambassadors Of Grace
Salt & Light Volume V, Issue 8 by D Scott Prindle

"Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God." (2 Corinthians 5:20)
We recently were in Reno for a business conference. We're not into casinos, so we took to the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe. With fresh powder, the skiing at Mt. Rose was awesome.

Ned, a local we met by divine appointment, showed Scott all the secret powder shots. We swear he must have been an angel sent by God.

On several of our business trips we have opportunities to meet people as ambassadors for both Christ and our company.

From East to West, people have the same basic needs. As Christ's ambassador, are you meeting these needs through your business?

To Belong
Do people want to associate with you and your business? Do you communicate that they are more than just "customers" or "clients"?

  • To Belong
  • To Have Value
  • To Be Competent

To Have Value
Most of us do a good job letting our customers know how much we value their business. Do you also do a good job valuing them as people?

To Be Competent
Do your products and services help people become better in their own careers and callings?

Use these questions to evaluate your business. What can you offer to more effectively meet these basic human needs? Meeting them is good business from a good heart.

God Fills What Man Cannot
Ultimately, only Christ completely fulfills these basic needs. You are accepted by Him, highly valued by Him, and competent in Him... always! Others sense this.

By the time Scott was done skiing for the day, Ned felt so valued that he called us the next day to let us in on another little secret... chutesThe Chutes were opening for the first time this year, and he offered to be our guide for another day of skiing!

People are attracted to Christ in you, the hope of glory.
