Open Your Gift
Salt & Light Volume I, Issue 12 by D. Scott Prindle

Did you get some great Christmas gifts this year?

Someone said, "The real message of Christmas is not the gifts that we give to each other. Rather, it is a reminder of the gift that God has given to each of us. It is the only gift that truly keeps on giving."

God gave you the Gift of Christ, His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Three things you should know about gifts:

#1 A Gift is Given

God gave His Gift to you. He did His part. He has given you everything you need for your life and vocation.
John 1 "1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend[a] it. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world."

#2 A Gift is Received

Have opened your gift? Inside you will find the Holy Spirit to encourage, equip, and empower you to find, start, and build a business that will impact people for the Kingdom of God. He turns on the light so you don't have to be in the dark.
John 12 "44 Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. 45 And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. 46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness."

#3 A Gift is Shared

Let His light shine by your love for Him and others. Make this your year to be bright.
Matthew 5 "14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

You may have had some setbacks and failures this past year... only to remind you that flesh is no match for the Spirit.

It is God's plan to give you His Gift that never stops giving. Open it and let the Holy Spirit give you the power to do what you can't do in your own strength... live the Christian life.

As you head into the new year God's Gift will bless you... so you can bless others.

Love Never Fails,
Scott & Laurie Prindle
