A Salty Vote?
Salt & Light Volume I, Issue 7 by D. Scott Prindle

"Let me tell you why you are here. You are here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage." Matthew 5:13-14 The Message

When you go to the polls next week, will your vote be salty or tasteless? As Christians we have the freedom and responsibility to put our nation's moral interest above every other issue.

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34

When voting for a president or any other leader we need to fulfill Martin Luther King's dream of; "I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

Exercise Your Senses
As God's ambassador you are to know right from wrong and choose what's right. Each of the candidates stand for or against certain moral issues like: abortion, godly marriage, sexually immorality, and no work- no eat. You need to examine the content of each candidate's moral character.

By your vote others will taste godliness or they will taste nothing. Don't let your vote end up in the garbage. Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Remember the sobering words of University of Edinborough professor Alexander Tyler who in 1787 warned our fledgling nation;

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves excessive gratitudes from the public treasury. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the treasury. With the result that democracy collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship."
