Fig Tree Failure
Salt & Light Volume II, Issue 10 by D. Scott Prindle

"So Jesus answered and said to them, 'Have faith in God.' "
(Mark 11:13)

This is the Lord's response to Peter who noticed the fig tree had dried up from the roots after Jesus cursed it for not finding any fruit.

Was the tree cursed for not bearing fruit? No, it was cursed for faking it. Fig trees with leaves should have fruit. This tree was pretending to have fruit by its show of leaves.

Jesus says with faith in God you can move mountains... the opposition you face in business. When you believe that you will receive what you ask for, you act like it.

You Can't Fake It
This doesn't mean you fake it till you make it... like the fig tree!

When Laurie and I say, "We are going to Jackson Hole today", we believe it even though there happens to be a literal mountain between us and where we want to go.

But our faith let's us get in the car, start driving until we make our way over the mountain and reach our destination. We weren't faking it. We believed and didn't have any doubt about making it.

Move Mountains
It's the same with the challenges you face in business. These are mountains that need to be moved by faith in God.

Pray until there is no doubt about it. You will know because you will act like you believe. You will bear the fruit of righteousness... and be fruitful in your business.
