Thrive in Troubled Times
Salt & Light Volume II, Issue 7 by D. Scott Prindle

""Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Laurie and I just returned from a business trip to Rapid City, SD. On the way home we visited Devil's Tower, our country's first National Monument. It rises over 800 feet and covers about 1-1/2 acres of ground.

The tower is all that remains after everything else around it crumbled and washed away over time. It is a great symbol of two characteristics you need to thrive in life and business during troubled times.

Be Steadfast
The first is that you are steadfast... in one place for a long time. Someone who is not flighty, but can be counted on when things are shaken up. Others look to you as a person who is like a rock.

Be Immovable
The second is that you are immovable. You're not easily excited... don't think the world is coming to an end... but stable, grounded, and rooted in Christ.

You have an attitude that says, "I'm not moving until I see my God given dream come to pass!"

In these times people need to see what true faith looks like. You have a choice... to thrive by being steadfast and immovable or to crumble away by being flighty and fickle.

God has placed you in your business to be an example to the world of His unmovable, unwavering Presence. Jesus is the Rock... you are to be the evidence of this to the world. Thrive.
