The Secret of Abundant Living
Salt & Light Volume III, Issue 34 by D. Scott Prindle

"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

business people

Abundant life means being fully engaged in life. Being fully engaged implies being:

  • Physically Energized
  • Emotionally Connected
  • Mentally Focused
  • Spiritually Aligned
with a purpose beyond yourself... something bigger than ordinary.

Building a business or career has to be about more than just money. We all need income, but we also need purpose.

How can your work connect you to a higher purpose?

Work is Ministry

One way is by seeing your work as your primary ministry. "My father is always at his work to this very day, and I too, am working" (John 5:17).

A disciple is one who becomes like his teacher. Jesus taught us Marketplace Ministry in His everyday work.

In the New Testament:

  • Of Jesus' 132 public appearances, 122 were in the marketplace.
  • Of 52 parables Jesus told, 45 had a workplace context.
  • Of 40 miracles in the book of Acts, 39 were in the marketplace!
Work is Sacred

Your work is your connection to people. You are their connection to Jesus. Never think of your daily work as anything less than a holy calling.

This will help you be fully engaged... experiencing the abundant life Jesus gives.
