What's Love Got To Do With It?
Salt & Light Volume III, Issue 5 by D. Scott Prindle

"Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." (Philippians 2:4)

Doing Business in Love
Laurie and I gathered with some fellow marketplace ministry partners this past weekend in Phoenix, Arizona.

As we listened to all the different ways people's lives are changed we are reminded of one thing- the vast majority of Christ's work being done through the marketplace is the result of love overcoming fear.

Time and again we hear how someone cared enough about another person that they were willing to put aside their fears, failures and judgments to reach out in love. The results are nothing short of miraculous.

Beauty to Ashes
Mariana Bridi Some of you remember the shocking death last year of 20-year-old Brazilian beauty queen Mariana Bridi from what began as a urinary tract infection caused by the drug-resistant bacteria pseudomonas aeruginosa.

The bacteria spread quickly through her body. In a desperate bid to save her life, doctors amputated her hands and feet, but she ultimately succumbed to the illness.

Wanda Clements from Tennessee was headed for the same fate. Her infection began in her finger. Soon the flesh-eating bacterium was consuming her tissue.

Medical treatments did nothing to stop it. Due to a health insurance policy that wouldn't cover her treatment, the hospital sent her home to die.

Love Overcomes
A home business owner told Wanda about a patented supplement that might help her. Within two days her finger began to miraculously heal.

What if this business woman did not reach out in love? What if she let fear stand in the way of her convictions? Wanda could very well be dead.

Love is powerful. It changes lives and it can power your business. As you reach out in love to others through your work, lives will be changed.

The greatest rewards are the changes within yourself as Christ transforms you into His image. Love enables you to conquer the fear that holds you back from God's best.
