River Of Life
Salt & Light Volume XI, Issue 15 by D. Scott Prindle

"The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes."
(Proverbs 21:1)

This time of the year in Teton Valley the snow melts off the mountains and surges into our rivers, creeks and canals.

The canal that flows through our property controls the runoff from May through July for irrigation.

It is one of many man-made canals that channels water to irrigate farmland. Without this intricate water system the land would remain dry and unproductive.

But all our best efforts are no guarantee against floods (let's remember to pray for those who are being affected by this years flooding).

In the same way, the Lord channels His grace through you by directing your steps to produce the fruit of His Kingdom within you.

Common Sense
As a business leader (king) you should make plans, but never forget that God can turn your heart. Use common sense to know the difference between being "in charge" and being "in control".

Being in charge implies responsibility. You are to be faithful and use godly wisdom to build your business, but trust the end result to the Lord. He is the One in control.

"We don't know
what the future
holds, but we
know Who
holds the

You are in charge of your business, but you kid yourself if you think you are in control.

The Lord determines the way the water will eventually flow, and rivers are known to change course.

It has been rightly said: "We don't know what the future holds, be we know Who holds the future."

Jesus was in charge of His business, but the Father was in control. He directed Jesus to the Cross... resulting in resurrection life.

Do you trust that God has your best interests at heart? He does.

Remember the Cross when you find things going a different direction than originally planned. Use your common sense with a Kingdom perspective to see His best for your life and business.
