Nothing Wrong With Capitalism
by Brandon
There is nothing wrong with capitalism, but please don't yoke it with the gospel. It does a great disservice to our Lord Jesus Christ and dilutes the gospel with the mentality that blessing is financial and that God gives gifts so that we can gain wealth. Hi Brandon, We believe we make a clear distinction between the Kingdom of God and the kingdoms of this world. However, you perceive we have yoked Capitalism to the Gospel in a way that hurts the Church in America. We don't see how you come to your conclusion based on what we have shared, but understand your concern that a "prosperity gospel" is skewed. We agree. We are simply stating our belief that Capitalism is the best system we've seen so far in promoting the Gospel to a lost and dying world. The U.S. church is declining because of moral decay, not because of Capitalism. Greed, lust, desire for power, and selfishness are a few examples. Sexual immorality is commonplace, even in the Church. By promoting Capitalism to Christians that want to serve Christ, we are empowering them to advance His Kingdom through Marketplace Ministry. Capitalism promotes free enterprise which is at the heart of christian business opportunities. In fact, our countries move away from Capitalism towards Socialism is making the Church weaker in America. The phrase "Social Justice" has been re-defined to mean government entitlements. Many Church leaders promote this as caring for the poor. They are only enabling Christians to depend more on their government instead of each other or working for a living. What happens when the government is yoked with the Gospel? Scary thought. Love Never Fails, Scott & Laurie
