Was Jesus There?
by Winston Fryer
Hi Scott & Laurie,
I am a Real Estate agent.
Yesterday I met with a seller who has experienced disappointment after disappointment over a five year period. He put his heart and soul into renovating a three apartment block near the sea side in our town. In spite of his dropping the asking prices considerably he has not not been able to sell even one apartment.
We sat down in a beautifully furnished lounge of one of the apartments. He unloaded a stream of anger, resentment, ridicule, and racial degradation directed at the Government and everyone in between spread across three continents where he has property investments.
I could see the man was very deeply troubled, as he confirmed this by telling me he is on medication to help him sleep!
After hearing and listening for some time, I decided to tell him he was setting himself up for a major medical problem (heart attack, etc.).
After trying to calm him down, as I said good-bye I asked him if I could do something for him.
"What is that", he said.
I said that I was going to pray for him... he looked me in the eye... and I could see a tear as he turned and went back into one of the apartments.
Was Jesus There?
We (my wife Val and I ) have started to pray earnestly for him and for his salvation. We have left him and his predicament in the precious arms of Jesus.
We will be seeing him again next Wednesday and look forward to hearing his experiences since we started praying for him.
My little story has left me feeling how Jesus felt when he always had passion for the lost and his heart went out to them.
Read Joshua 1:9
"Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go?"
